I have had the telephone approximately 48 hours and now know that HAC for this particular telephone is a myth. If you have hearing aids, keep looking.Jim In Plano Would you please repeat what you said." about as frequently as I did without hearing aids. Indeed, I now say, "Excuse me, I didn't hear that clearly. My wife and I may be the last couple in the nation to get caller ID, one of the functions that attracted me to the KX-TG1032S. All of Panasonic's literature describe the KX-TG1032S as Hearing Aid Compliant (HAC). However, after getting hearing aids in both ears just over a year ago, my prime objective was to get a phone that would not "screech" in my ear every time I tried to have a conversation. Only now it is because of the screech of the telephone in my ear rather than my inability to hear.
Trust me. You'll grow to hate this one. It looks nice and all but there's little thing that will bug you over time. Get another phone.
We don't have any weird electronics in the house or anything. My husband and I can't take it anymore. I am sitting 20 feet from the base. I am not sure because it doesn't do it every time but it does it at least once a day.
Although we do have a wireless router but I read in past reviews that no one had problems with the phone and wireless routers so I don't think it is that. I am very good about putting the phone back on the charger when I complete a call so I am still not sure what the problem is. We have the 2 handset model with one base and one small charger. It is so bothersome that we WILL be throwing this crap phone in the thrift store box and getting another one ASAP. The screen would finally came back on (maybe) and if it did, it said "No link to base". So with great confidence, we bought the phone and plugged it up to charge.
After having this phone a few weeks with no problems, we started getting a phone call and I would go to answer it and the screen would just black out and flicker. What. Also, no matter how long the phone is off the base, the battery indicator always shows a full battery. We have had the phone for about 3 months and it is still the same problem. We bought this phone after doing much research- I mean look at all the stars it gets here on Amazon. The handset would stop ringing, even though I could still hear the base and other phone ringing.
My guess is that when the phone "flips out" when someone calls, it might mean it is low on battery.
I always have to have the second handset with me which is really stupid. I've had this phone for a month and have had problems from day 1.The phone disconnects without warning while I'm using it. will be returning it to Amazon.
Because of this I had to purchase a new one and was glad I did. I would recommend it to anyone. I accidentally washed my original phone in the wash and it did not work anymore. This phone is clear, does everything I need and has a good support team behind it.
